State Pushkin Reserve Museum «Boldino»
It is the most literary place not only in the oblast, but also, perhaps, in the country. If there had not been for this place, the muse of Pushkin would have been different. This place is important for everyone for whom Pushkin's name is significant as park avenues, manor house, ponds, bridge are altogether reminiscent of Pushkin's lines. Works written here made it possible to talk about the phenomenon of «Boldino Autumn».
The first mention of the village in the documents is related to the XVI century. It was already then when the village belonged to the Pushkins family. The writer himself visited the village three times: in 1830, 1833 and 1834, respectively. It was here, within the walls of a mansion; on park alleys; in Boldino grove Luchinnik, where such works as «The Belkin Tales»; «The Queen of Spades»; fairy tales (except «The Tale of Tsar Saltan...»); chapters from «Eugene Onegin»; «The Little Tragedies»; «The Little House at Kolomna»; «Angelo»; and cyclus of poems «Autumn» were born.
In addition to the creative value in terms of Pushlin inheritance, the estate in Bolshoye Boldino has a great cultural significance. Here one can get acquainted with the special world of the Russian manor where park alleys, ponds, furnishings of a manor house, and household outbuildings fully convey the world of the Russian nobility to us. In the manor house there is a typical of the interior of the noble suite of rooms; one can see authentic things of that time there; for example, a cespitose bench and trees planted by Pushkin himself and his ancestors in a park. And everything around is so about Pushkin. Nearby the territory of the reserve museum, you can see a church in honor of the Dormition of the Mother of God; it was built in the year of birth of Pushkin.
