Vyksa complex of hystorical and cultural monuments
The main and most valuable complex of the monuments in Vyksa is architectural structures and a park of a former estate of the city founders as well as Batashyov brothers plants that were constructed in the last quarter of the XVIII century.
Those years the estate looked like an imposing settlement. There were more than twenty buildings in its territory. At the same time, half of them were made from brick. A kind of continuation of the estate was nearby Verhne Vyksunsky factory where dozens of different factory buildings, machinery and other facilities were represented.
A manor house; a park with a theater, zoo and greenhouses; the plant with numerous rooms and Verhne Vyksunsky pond together with a master's «Big» church standing on a hill were Batashev’s «nest» that was called Vyksa.
Working settlements were located at some distance from the house and were named as the nearby plants, that is, settlement of the Middle and Lower factory. In the center of the estate ensemble there is a «Big House» with the adjacent wings. The building of the former head office with barns and stables with the runt building is its continuation.
Currently, in the manor house there is a museum of history of Vyksa metallurgical plant which exhibitions show the history of Vyksa land from ancient times to the present day.
